SINGAPORE – In a shocking incident that unfolded on April 25, a 28-year-old man was apprehended for multiple offenses after a chaotic car crash in Edgedale Plains. The police reported that the driver was caught behind the wheel under the influence and was involved in a dangerous driving spree.
Not only was he charged with driving while intoxicated, but he was also found operating a vehicle that lacked insurance and valid road tax. Checks revealed that the road tax for the luxury Mercedes-Benz GLC300 hybrid had expired back in December 2024!
The alarm was raised at 12:55 PM when authorities were alerted to an accident scene involving three cars and a motorcycle at the junction of Punggol Field and Edgedale Plains. Witnesses reported a motorcyclist, 34, was transported to the hospital but remained conscious throughout the ordeal.
In a gripping video that circulated on social media, a white car can be seen recklessly driving against the flow of traffic before it was later captured with a severely damaged front-end. Nearby, other vehicles, along with a SingPost three-wheeled motorcycle that was flipped over, displayed the aftermath of the reckless driving.
As the investigation unfolds, the community is left in shock, highlighting the dangers of driving under the influence. Authorities continue to urge drivers to prioritize safety and responsibility on the road.
