The episode unfolded at Express Teppanyaki on August 31 around 2:15 PM, when Stomper True Singaporean and a friend decided to order Set B, priced at $26. This set, which included a generous bowl of rice, prompted them to add an extra bowl for just $1.50.

However, as they placed their order, True Singaporean overheard a cashier whispering to a nearby chef, "We don't accept two pax ordering a set; they have to order individual sets," conveying a sense of judgment and condescension. This remark left them feeling uncomfortable, especially since the Set B was indeed larger than the individual meals priced at $14 each.

Reflecting on the negative experience, True Singaporean noted that they learned this was not an isolated incident; other staff confirmed that this cashier had previously made similar comments.

In response to the incident, a spokesperson for Express Teppanyaki acknowledged the concern on September 8, emphasizing their commitment to providing a positive dining experience for all patrons.
