The World Health Organisation (WHO) has issued a stark warning that the number of cases may continue to rise as the transmission of the virus is still in progress. Ebola, a rare yet often deadly disease, is spread through direct contact with the blood and bodily fluids of infected individuals.

Congo is no stranger to Ebola, having experienced over a dozen outbreaks in the past. The most devastating of these occurred between 2018 and 2020, claiming nearly 2,300 lives. The latest outbreak in 2022 was also a serious concern, taking place in Equateur province.

Preparedness Measures: Vaccines and Supplies on the Way
