Transforming the Community: A 100-Day Report

In a thrilling development for the residents of Chua Chu Kang GRC, the local MPs have rapidly rolled out key initiatives in the first 100 days following the recent General Election. Among the highlights: a brand new mosque for Tengah residents, $1 deals on essential items, and prioritized healthcare access for seniors and children!

A Fresh Mosque to Serve a Growing Community

A significant addition to the community, a new mosque on Forest Drive will accommodate the increasing number of Muslim congregants as the growing population of Tengah puts existing mosques under strain. The new facility marks the fifth mosque in the GRC.

Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim, overseeing the Keat Hong ward, emphasized the need for this expansion while assuring residents that their input will be crucial in determining future facilities within the mosque.

Helping Residents Save with $1 Essentials!

In response to community concerns about rising living costs, a groundbreaking initiative is on the horizon: starting before the end of 2025, 12,000 households will have the opportunity to purchase essential daily items for just $1! This ambitious program aims to alleviate financial burdens on families.

Healthcare Access on the Rise

The team, led by Manpower Minister Tan See Leng, has identified healthcare access as a critical issue. Choa Chu Kang Polyclinic has expanded its services to allow priority walk-ins for seniors aged 70 and above, frail individuals, and children under two. This positive change aims to ensure that vulnerable populations can receive timely medical attention.

Connecting the Community—Literally!

Efforts to enhance transportation have begun, with the launch of new bus services to better connect residents to essential areas. Bus service 872 officially started its route from the Tengah bus interchange on August 10, servicing key locales like Tengah Boulevard and Plantation Crescent. More new bus routes are set to debut, improving mobility across the region.

A Vision for the Future of Tengah

As Singapore's youngest town, Tengah is experiencing exponential growth, with plans for 15,000 housing units by the end of 2025. The addition of four new preschools brings the total in the area to seven, nurturing the community's future.

In just 100 days, the Chua Chu Kang GRC team is not merely addressing immediate needs but also strategically planning for innovative solutions to long-term demographic shifts and infrastructure requirements. It’s an exciting time for residents as they witness their leaders turn promises into action!

Continuous Improvement in Healthcare Services

While clarifying recent updates, it was noted that the opening of the new Tengah Polyclinic is now scheduled for the first half of 2026, ensuring that residents have access to quality healthcare.

Stay tuned as Chua Chu Kang GRC continues to evolve with the needs of its vibrant community!
