Party or Pandemonium? Yishun's Void Deck Dilemma

For over three months, a disruptive group of men has claimed the void deck of Block 745 Yishun Street 72 as their daily party zone, according to local resident Meng.

Meng reported a scene of chaos where smoking, drinking, and littering are the norms, with furniture like tables and chairs being hoarded and even chained to pipes!

Despite multiple complaints to the town council, Meng noted little change in the situation. "I have sent feedback many times, but nothing has been done to address this issue," he lamented.

The Town Council’s Response: Aggression Meets Action

In light of the ongoing disturbances, the Nee Soon Town Council has acknowledged the issue and assured the public that they are taking action.

A spokesperson stated, "We are actively engaging with the group responsible for these unauthorized activities, which include smoking, drinking, and setting up furniture without permission. We utilize a multi-faceted approach that involves advisories, regular patrols, and direct engagement with the Residents’ Network and Citizens on Patrol."

However, the situation has escalated, with reports of the group responding aggressively to attempts at intervention. This has compelled the town council to involve the police to determine appropriate enforcement strategies.

Cleaning Up the Mess: Commitment to Community Safety

In the interim, the town council has doubled down on cleaning efforts to uphold hygiene and safety standards in the area.

The spokesperson emphasized their commitment to maintaining safe and welcoming communal spaces for all residents, thanking the community for their ongoing support and feedback.

As the battle between the partying group and local authorities continues, residents are left hoping for a resolution that restores peace to their neighborhood.
