A Unique Hospitality Experience Awaits!
Introducing Train Pod @ one-north, Singapore's first-ever train hotel, transforming a retired MRT train into a novel accommodation experience! This innovative concept features the original train interior, enhanced with multimedia displays showcasing footage from its past journeys.
Ready for Guests in 2025!
Scheduled to open in the second half of 2025, this remarkable hotel offers eight compact, air-conditioned rooms at approximately 7.5 square meters each. Each room, designed from a third-generation Kawasaki-Nippon Sharyo C751B carriage, can accommodate up to two guests with a single bunk bed and an ensuite bathroom.
Comfort Meets Nostalgia!
Guests will enjoy a range of amenities outside their rooms, including a vending machine, a coin-operated laundry area, an outdoor kitchen, and a communal dining space furnished with authentic MRT train seats.
Affordable Rates for a Memorable Stay!
Room rates are expected to be quite reasonable, ranging from $80++ to $90++ on weekdays and $100++ to $120++ on weekends, making it an attractive option for both locals and tourists.
A Sustainable Vision!
Launched by local startup Tiny Pod and supported by JTC Corporation, this hotel represents just one of their creative projects. Tiny Pod previously introduced shipping container hotels and plans to expand the concept with more decommissioned trains if public interest is high.
Innovations in Hospitality!
The recent addition to Singapore’s whimsical accommodation landscape follows the December 2023 opening of a resort hotel utilizing old public buses. The Bus Collective, located near Changi Village, retained original bus components, showcasing sustainable design principles.
Glimpse into the Future!
Ms. Low Yen Ling, Senior Minister of State, emphasized that such innovative business initiatives are a brilliant way to repurpose decommissioned assets for new, sustainable uses. The train used for this hotel was officially retired in May 2024, and after extensive renovations costing around $300,000, it was brought to life at LaunchPad @ one-north.
Exploration and Expansion!
As a temporary structure authorized to operate for up to seven years, Train Pod @ one-north has the potential to grow. Tiny Pod’s founder, Mr. Seah Liang Chiang, hinted at the exciting possibility of adding more train carriages to the site, contingent on demand and availability.
Embark on a Journey of Nostalgia!
Whether you're a local adventurer or a traveler seeking a unique experience, Train Pod invites you to step into a world where nostalgia meets innovative hospitality. Keep your eyes peeled for bookings as the launch date approaches!
