A New Era Begins at Baikonur

The Soyuz MS-27 spacecraft has successfully launched, ferrying the crew of the 73rd expedition to the International Space Station (ISS). This landmark mission, set to continue until December 9, is packed with 50 groundbreaking scientific experiments.

This launch was extraordinary, with a staggering 2,500 spectators converging at the Baikonur cosmodrome to witness the event live, including 27 bright young minds from Tatarstan. This impressive delegation comprised winners of All-Russian Olympiads in various subjects including astronomy, physics, and mathematics, alongside other remarkable achievers in creative and social fields.

Turning Sorrow into Joy

Khalil Gainutdinov, the founder of the Zikhangir movement, shared his sentiments on the vibrant atmosphere at Baikonur. "The energy was electric, resembling the thrill during the World Cup or the Olympics. Emotions ran high as people came together from all over Russia and beyond—Kazakhstan, the USA, and further. It was a moment filled with tears of joy and pride for our country!"

A Reunion with a Space Hero

Gainutdinov's trip was also a poignant reunion with his long-time friend Sergey Ryzhikov, Tatarstan’s only cosmonaut. Their friendship, which blossomed in 2013, continues to thrive despite their busy lives.

"Sergey is one of Russia's most skilled cosmonauts, and he makes time to return to Bugulma whenever he can. We last met in June at a student event and again in September at the Cosmonaut Training Center. It's always a joy to see him!"
