Get ready for a dose of nostalgia! Zach Braff is officially back in scrubs as Dr. John Dorian, fondly known as J.D., in the upcoming reboot of the beloved medical comedy series 'Scrubs' at ABC.

First aired from 2001 to 2010, this iconic show captured hearts with its blend of humor and emotion. The network confirmed the reboot's development back in December, reuniting Braff with the show's creator, Bill Lawrence, and a cast eager to relive the magic.

During a cheerful reunion panel at the ATX TV Festival in 2022, Lawrence hinted at the project: "We’re gonna do it, you guys know. If you ever have an excuse to work with people you want to spend time with anyway, run to it." It's clear the excitement is palpable!

However, the journey to this revival has been anything but simple. Lawrence, who currently holds a lucrative deal with Warner Bros. TV, is busy juggling four series, including 'Shrinking' and the much-anticipated return of 'Ted Lasso.' Luckily, WBTV allowed a special carve-out in his contract to breathe new life into 'Scrubs' at 20th Television, the studio behind the original show.

Zach Braff is the first original cast member to officially join the ABC reboot. Fans will also remember lovable characters played by Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, Judy Reyes, John C. McGinley, Neil Flynn, and Ken Jenkins, who might also return.

Since the end of 'Scrubs,' Braff and Lawrence have collaborated on various projects, with Braff directing episodes of 'Shrinking' and 'Ted Lasso,' even earning critical acclaim in the process. He’s also spruced up his film resume, recently wrapping up 'Clean Hands,' inspired by the transformative journey of drug cop turned recovery advocate Kevin Simmers.

With Braff back in the role that made him a household name, fans can expect a fresh yet familiar take on the laugh-out-loud antics in the world of medicine. Stay tuned for more updates as this beloved series makes its exciting return!
