In an emotional display following Barcelona's thrilling Clasico triumph over Real Madrid at Montjuic, goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny was seen with tears in his eyes.
The Polish star played the entire match and couldn’t contain his emotions as the victory propelled Barcelona closer to securing the championship title.
After the final whistle, Szczesny opened up about his tearful reaction during a post-match interview with Canal+. He confessed, "I always strive to keep my emotions in check, whether good or bad, but after that match, it was really tough for me to hold back. My eyes filled with tears. It was a truly wonderful moment."
Szczesny reflected on the significance of this season, especially after coming out of retirement to join the Catalan giants. He noted, "I was retired, and then I found myself in this situation. It might seem strange because Inter Milan knocked us out, but this Barcelona team is currently the best in the world."
He couldn’t help but praise the young talents on the team, stating, "What these youngsters are achieving is remarkable and deserves recognition. It’s unfortunate we couldn’t clinch the title outright, but we came very close and have built something meaningful for the future."
