The WNBA playoffs are heating up as the New York Liberty and the Las Vegas Aces have both successfully advanced to the semi-finals in a powerful display of skill and strategy.

The Liberty, the top seed in the playoffs, swept their first-round series against the eighth-seeded Atlanta Dream with a decisive 91-82 victory at Barclays Center on Tuesday night. It was a fitting conclusion to a match that many expected to end in favor of New York, especially since they triumphed in three of their four regular-season clashes against the Dream. A'ja Wilson, who has been sensational throughout the playoffs, led the Aces with 24 points and 13 rebounds, earning her title as the 2024 WNBA MVP. Kelsey Plum also had an outstanding evening, contributing a team-high 29 points, while Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray added critical support with a combined 21 points. The Aces displayed a potent combination of experience and finesse, crucial for such intense playoff matches.

Seattle's efforts were led by Gabby Williams and Nneka Ogwumike, who tallied 20 and 16 points respectively. However, despite their best efforts, the Storm could not overcome the defensive prowess and relentless drive of the Aces.
