Users reported debilitating problems with large file transfers, particularly when updating hefty games like Cyberpunk 2077 that require extensive disk space. Many found that their SSDs simply vanished during these transfers.

The troubles seem to arise mostly when SSDs are more than 60% full and data exceeding 50GB is involved. In many cases, a simple reboot restored visibility to the drives. In an alarming twist, however, one user’s 2TB Western Digital SA510 didn’t wake up after the restart.
