USPS Honors Betty White with Upcoming Stamp Release!

In an exciting announcement, the United States Postal Service (USPS) is set to release a series of stamps dedicated to the legendary actress Betty White in 2025. This initiative not only commemorates her contributions to entertainment but also celebrates her legacy as a compassionate advocate for animals.

The USPS provided a sneak peek of the new stamp designs in a press release on Friday, showcasing several famous personalities and themes aimed at capturing the essence of American culture and heritage. Betty White's stamp features a stunning digital illustration by Dale Stephanos, based on a memorable photograph from 2010 captured by Kwaku Alston. Greg Breeding, an art director at USPS, played a crucial role in the stamp's design.

Betty White, who lived from 1922 to 2021, left an indelible mark on television, entertaining audiences for over seventy years with her iconic roles in sitcoms like "The Golden Girls" and "The Mary Tyler Moore Show." Even in her 90s, she continued to captivate younger generations, becoming a beloved figure across various age groups. Her vibrant personality and quick wit, coupled with her dedication to animal rights, truly made her an American treasure.

In addition to the tribute to Betty White, the USPS will also honor Allen Toussaint in their Black Heritage series. The upcoming stamps will include creative designs celebrating the Year of the Snake, which begins on January 29, 2025, as well as heartfelt stamps featuring the artwork of the late artist Keith Haring, centered around the theme of Love.
