Urgent Recall Announcement

In a critical safety announcement, John Deere has issued a recall affecting approximately 147,900 compact utility tractors across the United States. The models impacted include the John Deere 1023E, 1025R, and 2025R, with serious concerns regarding potential brake loss that could lead to crashes.

Consumer Product Safety Commission Warning

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) released a statement warning that a failure in the front bell crank of the brake linkage could result in a "crash hazard" for users. Customers with any of these tractors are strongly urged to refrain from using them until they receive a complimentary repair from an authorized John Deere dealer.

John Deere's Commitment to Safety

With a vast network of over 2,000 dealerships throughout the U.S. and Canada, John Deere has reiterated its commitment to customer safety. If customers are unable to transport their tractors, dealers will organize to repair the vehicles at the owners’ residences, ensuring minimal disruption.

Reported Incidents

In alarming reports, at least four documented incidents of brake linkage failure have manifested, resulting in one hospitalization and two injuries, alongside minor damages to the tractors themselves.

Company Statement

John Deere expressed their prioritized commitment to customer safety in a statement to FOX Business, emphasizing that nothing is more important than protecting their users. The recall specifically pertains to tractors purchased between November 2017 and July 2024.
