The FSIS’s surveillance efforts uncovered that the Old World Italian Sausage links and ropes had skipped critical safety evaluations, leading to the urgent recall.

These sausage products were made between October 3, 2024, and December 19, 2024, and carry the establishment number “EST. 10827.” They were primarily distributed in 10-pound cardboard boxes to restaurants and retail outlets in Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. While there have been no reports of illnesses associated with these products yet, the USDA urges anyone who has purchased "Old World Sausage" from this timeframe to either discard it or return it to the retailer without hesitation.
