Germany's Brightest Minds Explore Hong Kong's Startup Scene
In an inspiring journey, twelve of Germany's brightest innovation and tech talents toured Hong Kong and Shenzhen for five days, immersing themselves in the region's dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem. This visit was a collaborative effort by Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) and Germany's Young Founders Network (YFN), aiming to connect winners of a recent pitch competition in Munich with the vibrant opportunities in Asia.
A Thriving Ecosystem Awaits
The delegation's itinerary was packed with visits to key innovation hotspots. They explored the Hong Kong Science Park, the Shatin Communications and Technology Centre of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, and the Entrepreneurship Center at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Their journey also took them to the Qianhai International Talent Innovation and Exchange Centre in Shenzhen, where they engaged with local startups and government representatives.
Chris Sun, Hong Kong’s Secretary for Labour and Welfare, emphasized the importance of talent and technology as vital drivers of economic progress. He noted that Hong Kong has risen to fourth globally in the World Talent Ranking 2025, showcasing its robust appeal as a center for innovation in the Greater Bay Area.
