Schwieterman passed away on February 29, 2024, due to complications from an aggressive stage 4 cancer, as confirmed by his brother, Chad Schwieterman, in a heartfelt Facebook post.
Chad reflected on the profound loss, sharing, "It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my brother, Jan (JP) Schwieterman. He recently found out he had an aggressive form of stage 4 cancer and passed yesterday evening. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Rest in peace, brother. We love you and miss you."
Born on September 30, 1972, in Bluffton, Indiana, Jan Schwieterman was a man of many passions. A proud Eagle Scout, he transitioned to California post-high school to pursue an acting career. His breakout role came with *Good Burger*, where he starred alongside comedy legends Kel Mitchell and Kenan Thompson as their corporate antagonist, the proprietor of Mondo Burger.
The film, which has gained a cult following over the years, was packed with memorable appearances from famous personalities such as Carmen Electra, Shaquille O'Neal, and Linda Cardellini. Schwieterman continued to showcase his talent in other notable films, including *American Intellectuals* and *Warlock III: The End of Innocence*, as well as guest roles in popular TV series like *ER*, *Felicity*, and *NightMan*.
After his role in *Fallen Arches* in 2000, Jan took a seven-year hiatus from acting, returning briefly in 2007 with *Along the Way*. Beyond acting, he was an avid traveler, exploring numerous countries throughout his life, and had a creative side as an artist specializing in photography and painting.
