Tom Aspinall is done playing the waiting game when it comes to Jon Jones. After more than a year of anticipation and endless speculation about a potential showdown, Aspinall has had enough.

In a recent appearance on the Good Guy/Bad Guy show with Daniel Cormier and Chael Sonnen, Aspinall made it clear that he believes Jones is officially retired. "Jon's retired. What are you talking about? You’ve seen his social media, right? He’s living his best life!" Aspinall stated with conviction.

He went on to praise Jones's storied career and offer well wishes for his future, saying, "God bless him in whatever he decides to do next, but it’s time for us to move on. I’m the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world now, and I’m ready to shake things up in this division.”

While Jones hasn’t made any official declarations, his frequent hints about stepping back from the octagon have left fans questioning if they’ll see him compete again. Aspinall interpreted this uncertainty as a clear sign.

"If one guy is contemplating retirement, then he’s essentially retired,” Aspinall asserted. "I’m focused on making this division exciting again and giving opportunities to the contenders who have been sidelined for too long.”

Currently, Aspinall holds the record for the longest reign as an interim champion in UFC history, nearly surpassing the 600-day mark. Some critics might view the lengthy wait for a title shot against a legend like Jones as frustrating, but Aspinall doesn’t see it that way. He’s eager to move forward.

"I’m not fixated on fighting Jon Jones; my aim is to claim the undisputed heavyweight championship. I want to be the definitive champion in this division," he explained. "Unlike Michael Chandler, who waited a long time for Conor McGregor, I’m not just waiting for one fight. My goal is to face all challengers and emerge victorious against everyone."

With a determined mindset and a desire to elevate the heavyweight division, Aspinall is ready for action. The question now is: who will step up to challenge him as he embarks on this new chapter of his career?
