Having been a loyal user of Samsung’s foldable phones since the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in 2020, I can confidently say that I've experienced nearly every iteration since—except the Galaxy Z Fold 5. While the Galaxy Z Fold 6 received mixed reviews, I found it to be an impressive device that didn’t quite match the fierce competition.

Despite having tried other high-end foldables, including the Oppo Find N5 and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, there’s an undeniable charm in Samsung’s foldables that keeps me coming back. Their craftsmanship still holds a special appeal.

What truly has me buzzing about the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is how Samsung appears to be merging that signature Samsung quality with features that keep it competitive in the ever-evolving landscape of smartphones.

First off, let’s talk about the hardware. Rumors and leaked images suggest the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be significantly thinner, finally putting it on par with rivals. This update alone is enough to generate excitement!

But there's more to the Fold 7 than just a slimmer silhouette. The software upgrade, One UI 7, has been a game-changer on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and I expect it to elevate the Fold 7 experience dramatically. My initial experience with it on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 left me confident that it will breathe new life into this model as well.

Then there’s the camera. Speculations about a 200MP main sensor have everyone buzzing, and I’m eager to see a flagship camera worthy of Samsung’s latest premium offering—especially since the S25 Ultra already hinted at some worthwhile improvements. Plus, goodbye to the under-display camera! Returning to a traditional hole-punch design for the inner camera is a relief.

I’m also optimistic about the display. Not only is the inner display reportedly larger, but there are whispers of a potential anti-reflective coating—something I loved about the OnePlus Open and hope becomes more widespread. Of course, until we see it in action, I'll remain cautiously optimistic.
