In a recent FAQ, the company has emphatically stated that the Switch 1 version will not easily transition to the Switch 2. The FAQ even goes so far as to clarify that there’s no upgrade path from the Switch 1 version to the Switch 2. Simply put, if you want to enjoy the enhancements, you'll have to re-purchase the game for full price.
