The Story Behind Aqua Luna

Crafted with love and precision at Kwong Ming Shipyard by Au Sai-kit and his father, the Aqua Luna was a labor of passion nestled in the heart of A Kung Ngam, Shau Kei Wan. This two-story shipyard, adorned with tools and timber, was crucial in a moment of crisis for their business.

When a client requested a complex commercial junk in 2006, Au and his father hesitated due to its ambitious design. Yet, seeing it as a lifeline, they embarked on a nine-month journey to create this masterpiece.

Crafting Precision and Stability on the Waves

Au highlights the intricacies of wooden junk construction, noting, "Even a tiny 0.5-centimeter mistake can spell disaster, leading to misalignments or leaks." These junks, he explains, offer not only stability in rough waters but also cooler retreats during hot summers.
