Tensions are running high between UFC champion Sean Strickland and MMA legend Dan Henderson as they dispute the real reason behind their training split. Strickland recently fired back after Henderson claimed in a podcast that Strickland’s trash talking and disrespectful attitude led to his departure from Team Quest.

During his recent appearance on Mike Perry’s Overdogs Podcast, Henderson reflected on the past, stating, "He got into little arguments with other fighters who felt he was going too hard. Then he'd go online and disrespect them, which is just not cool for your training partners. After warning him multiple times, I finally had to say, 'Hey dude, you’ve got to go.' But I did enjoy having him there as a training partner."

Strickland wasn’t having any of it. He took to Instagram to set the record straight, declaring, "None of this is true. I was Dan's main training partner for his last fight. When it was time to renew my membership after he retired, I left! Sure, I made fun of the fight team, but that’s just me being me!" He humorously added that many were busy doing yoga instead of sparring, which often triggered his frustration.

This isn’t the first time Strickland’s behavior has stirred controversy. Known for his controversial remarks and antics, he still managed to capture the UFC middleweight title, defeating Israel Adesanya at UFC 293, although he has since lost the belt to Dricus du Plessis.

While they differ in how their time together ended, Strickland made sure to acknowledge Henderson in a positive light, stating, "Dan is the man. If he hadn’t retired and saw everyone skipping class for yoga like I did, he’d be throwing H-bombs too!" Both fighters seem to have mutual respect despite the drama, proving that tensions in the ring can sometimes lead to intriguing battles outside of it.
