2025 SAG Awards Nominations

The nominations for the 2025 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards were revealed this morning, replacing a planned in-person announcement that was canceled due to the ongoing wildfire tragedy impacting Los Angeles.

The prestigious film ensemble category will see fierce competition among the star-studded casts of *A Complete Unknown*, *Anora*, *Conclave*, *Emilia Pérez*, and the much-anticipated *Wicked*.

Leading the charge for Best Actor on the film side are golden Globe-winner Adrien Brody for *The Brutalist*, Timothée Chalamet for *A Complete Unknown*, Daniel Craig for *Queer*, Colman Domingo for *Sing Sing*, and Ralph Fiennes for *Conclave*.

In the category of Best Actress, notable nominees include Pamela Anderson for *The Last Showgirl*, Cynthia Erivo for *Wicked*, Karla Sofía Gascón for *Emilia Pérez*, Mikey Madison for *Anora*, and Demi Moore, who previously secured a Golden Globe for her role in *The Substance*.

*Wicked* shines brightly this awards season, leading the film pack with a total of five nominations, followed closely by *A Complete Unknown* with four, and both *Anora* and *Emilia Pérez* with three each.

On the television side, the competition is equally fierce. For Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, nominees include *Bridgerton*, *The Day of the Jackal*, *The Diplomat*, *Shōgun*, and *Slow Horses*. The Comedy Series nominees boast heavyweights such as *Abbott Elementary*, *The Bear*, *Hacks*, *Only Murders in the Building*, and *Shrinking*.

The SAG Awards will be held for the 31st time on February 23 at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles, with Kristen Bell set to host the ceremony. A special highlight this year will be the SAG Life Achievement Award being presented to the iconic Jane Fonda.

As awards season kicks into gear following the Golden Globes, which just took place, many of the nominated films like *Emilia Pérez* and *The Brutalist* are hoping to build on their momentum headed into the SAG Awards. Last year, the SAG Awards provided a significant boost to *Oppenheimer*, which went on to win the Best Picture Oscar after winning the Outstanding Ensemble trophy.

The SAG Awards have increasingly become a reliable predictor for the Oscars; in fact, four of the last five recipients of the Ensemble Film award have claimed the Best Picture title at the Academy Awards. Notably, three of last year’s SAG winners in acting categories — Cillian Murphy, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, and Robert Downey Jr. — later took home Oscars in their respective categories.
