As the Red Sox face a challenging skid, the pressure is mounting to bring up Roman Anthony, the hottest prospect in baseball, from Triple-A.

The young star has been a standout at Worcester, consistently crushing the ball and showing no signs of slowing down. With Boston mired in a five-game losing streak, the clamor for his promotion is growing louder.

Chief baseball officer Craig Breslow has taken notice, and manager Alex Cora is fielding increasing inquiries about when this slugging outfielder will join the big league squad.

In a candid moment on WEEI’s afternoon show, Cora stated, "We’ve been having conversations. We knew certain players, like Kristian Campbell, would eventually be part of the big league team — it just happened sooner than expected. Roman is on the same track. He’s doing an outstanding job and improving. Let's be honest, he’s not just knocking at the door; he’s knocking it down."

Anthony showcased his talent during spring training but didn’t make the final roster. However, he’s made his mark in Triple-A this season, boasting an impressive .318 batting average, eight home runs, and 23 RBIs in just 49 games, accompanied by a remarkable .979 OPS. This performance is the best he's recorded in his minor league career, aside from a brief stint with Double-A Portland last year.

Given his exceptional form and the current struggles of the Red Sox, many believe the time has come for Anthony's much-anticipated call-up — and Alex Cora might not be able to resist much longer!
