Record-Breaking Number of Runners Unite for Hong Kong Disneyland 10K Weekend 2024

In a spectacular display of enthusiasm and camaraderie, nearly 20,000 runners and Disney enthusiasts from across Asia came together last week for the much-anticipated Hong Kong Disneyland 10K Weekend 2024. This year’s event featured a groundbreaking new route through the enchanting World of Frozen, marking an exhilarating first for participants.

Exciting New Features:

The 2024 10K Weekend saw the introduction of fresh award categories, rewarding champions and runners-up across the “Pixar Pals 5K” race, as well as celebrating the all-new “Disney-Style Runway Awards.” Runners were particularly thrilled to encounter beloved characters like Queen Anna and Elsa who cheered them on at the starting line, enhancing the magical atmosphere of the event. Along the race route, participants also enjoyed the spirited presence of Mickey and Friends, Duffy and Friends, Marvel Super Heroes, and Pixar Pals.

Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, graced the event as a guest of honor, officially kicking off the races on November 3rd.

Promoting Inclusion and Community:

This year, the event emphasized inclusivity by inviting around 80 athletes with visual, hearing, and physical disabilities to participate, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Federation of Handicapped Youth and other organizations. This initiative showcased the importance of accessible sports, allowing everyone to join the fun.

Participants were rewarded with exciting prizes for their efforts, ranging from gift cards to luxurious one-night stays at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and Disney Explorers Lodge.
