In a heartfelt farewell to the world of horse racing, Hall of Fame jockey Ron Turcotte, best known for riding the legendary Secretariat to victory in the 1973 Triple Crown, has passed away at the age of 84. His family announced his death from natural causes, revealing that he breathed his last at his home in Drummond, New Brunswick.

Turcotte's monumental career saw him clinch the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, and Belmont Stakes—each race twice—culminating in the historic 1973 Triple Crown. This remarkable achievement ended a 25-year drought since Citation's win in 1948.

"Ron was a great jockey and an inspiration to many, both in racing and beyond," said Leonard Lusky, a longtime friend and business partner. "His greatness stemmed not just from his success but from his faith, courage, and kindness."
