Shough had his first chance to shine during rookie minicamp, where Moore praised his performance. 'He did an excellent job in those competitive seven-on-seven sessions,' Moore noted. As part of the ongoing offseason program, Shough and the other rookies will now join the veterans.

Moore also hinted at the possibility of adding a veteran quarterback if the right opportunity arises. 'We’ll keep our awareness on that front,' he said.

Haener, a fourth-round pick in 2023, appeared in eight games last season, throwing for 226 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Rattler, chosen in the fifth round in 2024, played in seven games, recording 1,317 yards, four touchdowns, and five interceptions.

Meanwhile, Shough arrives as the 40th pick in the 2025 draft, and coach Moore knows the potential of a rookie stepping up. Reflecting on his days in Dallas, Moore recalled how Dak Prescott seized his chance as a fourth-round pick when Tony Romo was injured, forever changing the trajectory of the franchise.
