In a recent update from the Holy See Press Office, it has been reported that Pope Francis is in stable condition, and he is showing slight improvements in his health while receiving treatment at Rome's Gemelli Hospital.
The Vatican disclosed that the Pope's respiratory therapy is yielding positive results. He has been utilizing high-flow oxygen therapy with nasal cannulas less often and, on certain occasions, is able to forgo oxygen support completely. Additionally, during nighttime, Pope Francis is being kept on non-invasive mechanical ventilation to ensure comfort and ease of breathing.
Notably, a photo released yesterday featured some swelling in the Pope's hand, which medical professionals attribute to reduced mobility. However, encouragingly, this condition has already improved as of today.
Throughout his time in the hospital, the Pope has remained spiritually engaged, spending much of his day in prayer and reflection, while also attending to some work-related matters.
While the Vatican community and the global Catholic Church remain ever vigilant and hopeful for his complete recovery, fans and admirers alike are sending their prayers and positive thoughts for the beloved leader of the Catholic faith, hoping to soon see him return to his public duties.
