Activating the Alert feature generates a loud siren and flashing light, catching the attention of anyone nearby, while simultaneously notifying your emergency contacts that you need help.

To activate this crucial feature, simply press the Clip’s button a few times in quick succession. If the situation improves, you can easily cancel the alert by either pressing the button again or holding it down. Should you choose to cancel it, your emergency contacts will receive a notification confirming the alert was intentionally stopped.

Differentiating itself from regular tracking sounds, the Clip emits a piercing 97-decibel siren specifically designed to announce distress, ensuring that anyone in the vicinity understands you’re in danger. The alert continues for up to one minute, maximizing your chances of being noticed.

This innovation puts Pebblebee in direct competition with similar features offered by rivals like Tile, which introduced an SOS Alert last September. However, Pebblebee’s unique advantage lies in the inclusion of both audio and visual warnings, appealing to a more immediate response from bystanders.

Through the app, you can create a 'Safety Circle'—a trusted contact who will receive an SMS when the Alert is activated. This message includes a secure link to your location, viewable without needing to download the Pebblebee app. Excitingly, the company is planning to expand the Safety Circle feature to encompass multiple contacts in the near future, along with live location tracking.
