In a stunning announcement that took the market by storm, Oracle revealed on Tuesday that its revenue forecast for the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) has skyrocketed to an impressive growth rate of 77% this year, up from previous predictions of 70%.
This surge is fueled by an insatiable demand for cloud solutions, prompting a remarkable 23% jump in Oracle's shares following the news. The tech giant now anticipates OCI revenue to soar to $18 billion in this fiscal year, with expectations set even higher at $144 billion over the next four years.
In an exciting move for investors, Oracle’s growth is underpinned by four multi-billion-dollar contracts inked with three major clients in the first quarter alone, pushing the overall revenue to $14.93 billion—an impressive 12% increase.
CEO Safra Catz expressed confidence, stating, "In the coming months, we expect to secure several additional multi-billion-dollar contracts. Our remaining performance obligations (RPO) are projected to exceed half a trillion dollars!" This measure of booked revenue has seen a staggering 359% increase, reaching $455 billion as of August 31.
Expert analyst Jacob Bourne from eMarketer commented on the trend, "Enterprises are clambering for cost-effective AI cloud solutions, and Oracle is strategically positioned to seize this burgeoning demand."
Oracle's strategy includes deploying integrated cloud technologies and flexible deployment options, making them a competitive player in the market. They've established significant partnerships with industry giants like Amazon, Alphabet, and Microsoft, allowing OCI to operate within their vast cloud infrastructures.
The results are astonishing: Oracle's MultiCloud database revenue from these partnerships has exploded by an astonishing 1,529% in just the first quarter. Chairman Larry Ellison noted, "We predict our MultiCloud revenue will continue to grow significantly every quarter for several years as we introduce 37 additional datacenters to our three hyperscaler partners, totaling an impressive 71."
