In a heartfelt announcement that shook fans, New Orleans Saints right tackle Ryan Ramczyk officially declared his retirement on Thursday night.

Reflecting on his remarkable journey, Ramczyk shared his emotional thoughts on social media, stating, "What an incredible journey it’s been. My path to the NFL wasn’t a straight line. There were moments when people doubted me, moments when I doubted myself. Sometimes the road less traveled leads to places you never expected, but it ends up being exactly where you were meant to be."

From a technical college aspiring to be a welder to becoming an All-Pro in the NFL, Ramczyk's story is one of perseverance against the odds.

Drafted in the first round by the Saints in 2017, Ramczyk became a cornerstone of the team's offensive line. Despite facing knee injuries in the last two seasons, which sidelined him for five games in 2023 and all of the previous season, his contributions were undeniable.

Over his career, which includes 101 regular-season games, Ramczyk earned his place in history by starting 98 games at right tackle, securing All-Pro honors in 2019 and being named second-team All-Pro twice.

As the NFL announced his participation in this year's draft, where he will announce the Saints’ second-day picks in Green Bay, Ramczyk expressed excitement for his future. "I’m excited for what the future holds, especially the opportunity to spend more time with my two boys and watch them grow. I’m looking forward to this next chapter in life and am forever grateful. Who Dat for life," he wrote.
