Imagine playing a game on a console that isn't even in stores yet! A Japanese speedrunner, Ikaboze, has pulled off a jaw-dropping feat by finishing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the Nintendo Switch 2—a device that fans won’t be able to purchase for over a month!

Attending a preview event in Tokyo, Ikaboze dazzled the crowd with his skills, managing to defeat the formidable Ganon in just seven minutes during a limited 10-minute demo. The speedrun wasn’t a typical any% attempt, where players usually take around 23 minutes to finish. Instead, Ikaboze cleverly loaded an autosave right outside Hyrule Castle, dropped all of Link's gear, and rushed straight into battle against Ganon!

As the credits rolled, cheers erupted from astonished onlookers, unaware they were witnessing a historic moment—the first known completion of the demo set up by Nintendo. Staff at the event even confirmed to Ikaboze that he was the first person to complete this unique version of the beloved game.

Nintendo has promised that not only Breath of the Wild but also its 2023 sequel, Tears of the Kingdom, will be available for the Switch 2 on its launch day, June 5. This enhanced edition boasts improved performance and stunning HDR graphics, plus a new Zelda companion app that helps players locate any missing Koroks and shrines in their quests.

For existing players, upgrading to the Switch 2 version will only cost $10. And if you're a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscriber, you'll be able to access these upgraded games as part of your membership. Talk about a sweet deal! Can you beat Ikaboze’s astonishing speedrun? You'll definitely want to try!
