Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the specter of cancellation loomed large.

A Miraculous Comeback

Despite the destruction, festival organizers quickly rallied together, vowing that Tomorrowland would not be defeated by adversity. Debby Wilmsen, a spokesperson for Tomorrowland, declared, "Years of love and passion have gone into building that stage. Those teams are devastated, but we’re excited to welcome 38,000 festival-goers tomorrow. We will make it a wonderful experience!"

In an extraordinary twist, Metallica's tour equipment was quickly airlifted from Austria, allowing the festival to nearly replace the destroyed stage overnight. This act of generosity ensured that Tomorrowland could proceed with its stellar lineup.

Wilmsen echoed this sentiment, confirming to DJ Mag, "It is a miracle, and we are beyond happy to be opening. Just two hours ago, we were still tearing down the old stage.”
