The outbreak has sent ripple effects across numerous states—Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Of those 45 cases, a troubling 16 individuals have been hospitalized, but thankfully no deaths have been reported.
