Major Donations Pour in for L.A. Fire Relief: Disney, Paramount, and Hollywood Unite

In a remarkable show of solidarity, The Walt Disney Company is stepping up with a substantial donation of $15 million to assist in response and rebuilding efforts as Southern California faces devastating wildfires. Concurrently, Paramount Pictures is contributing $1 million to support local organizations providing crucial aid, including the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, California Fire Foundation, Red Cross, Direct Relief, World Central Kitchen, and Best Friends Animal Society.

The Creative Artists Agency (CAA) has also launched the SoCal Fire Fund, aimed at offering support to communities affected by these relentless fires. The fund is managed by the Entertainment Industry Foundation, which has a history of mobilizing resources in times of crisis.

Disney's CEO Bob Iger expressed the company's commitment to helping the local community and its employees during this challenging time. “As this tragedy continues to unfold, The Walt Disney Company is committed to supporting our community and our employees as we all work together to recover and rebuild from this unbelievable devastation,” said Iger. He emphasized Disney's historical connection to Los Angeles, recognizing the deep bonds the company shares with the area.

The company also highlighted its ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of employees living in affected regions. They are working diligently to provide additional resources to their Employee Relief Fund, aimed at assisting those grappling with hardships due to the fires.

Paramount's co-CEOs announced their donation in a heartfelt memo, acknowledging the impact of the fires on their employees and thanking their news teams who have been tirelessly covering the situation on the ground. The memo included links for employees to access resources and a matching donation for contributions made to the employee assistance fund.

The newly established SoCal Fire Fund is designed to prioritize equitable recovery for families in need across Los Angeles. Natalie Tran, CAA Foundation’s executive director, emphasized the urgent need for a compassionate response to the crisis. “The scope of loss for neighbors across Los Angeles is immense and calls for a robust, compassionate, and flexible response,
