In a groundbreaking move, the New York Giants are set to sell a 10 percent stake in the franchise for over $1 billion, catapulting the team's valuation to an astonishing $10 billion—the highest ever for a sports franchise!

Julia Koch and her family have struck a deal with the Giants' current owners, the Mara and Tisch families, to acquire this significant ownership share. However, before the transaction can be finalized, it awaits approval from the league's other owners.

In terms of ownership structure, the deal will adjust the current ownership stakes, leaving the Mara and Tisch families each with 45 percent of the team—while the Kochs will hold a solid 10 percent. It’s important to note that this investment will not grant the Koch family a controlling stake.

Prior to this shakeup, the record for the highest valuation in sports history was held by the recent sale of a majority stake in the Los Angeles Lakers, which also reached the $10 billion mark.

Julia Koch, who is making her mark in the New York sports scene, previously invested approximately $1 billion for a 15 percent stake in the parent company of the Brooklyn Nets, New York Liberty, and Barclays Center just last year.

With a net worth estimated between $70 billion and $80 billion, Julia Koch and her family are undeniably becoming influential figures in the world of sports ownership.
