After more than 35 years, John Goodman is preparing to bid farewell to his beloved character, Dan Conner.

With the much-anticipated two-part series finale of 'The Conners' airing this Wednesday at 8/7c on ABC, Goodman reflected on how quickly the seven-season revival has flown by. He first brought Dan to life on 'Roseanne' back in 1988.

"It's really hard to say goodbye; it's something I'm going to miss for a while. I'm getting older and I don't adapt well to change," he confessed to People. Goodman reminisced about the excitement of reuniting the cast, stating, "It feels like it was just two weeks ago. Showing up every day and being with everyone has made it a fantastic place to work."

He added, "Every day we come in and just share so many laughs, and that makes it tough to leave."

Last May, ABC announced an abbreviated renewal for a seventh and final season. Goodman expressed gratitude for the network allowing them to finish the show, saying he will cherish that opportunity for a long time.

Originally premiering in 1988, 'Roseanne' followed the trials of a middle-class family for nine seasons, returning in 2018 for a revival that ultimately faced controversy when star Roseanne Barr was ousted due to racially insensitive remarks. From there, 'The Conners' was launched in October 2018, exploring the family's dynamics following the character's tragic death from an opioid overdose.
