Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is not holding back his frustration with the NFL's scheduling plans, especially when it comes to international games. While many teams shiver at the thought of playing overseas, Burrow is eager to suit up on the global stage.

This season, only 13 teams will have the opportunity to showcase their talents internationally, leaving Burrow and the Bengals on the sidelines yet again. In fact, Burrow has not participated in any of these international matchups during his entire professional career.

At a recent minicamp press conference, Burrow made it crystal clear that he wants to help grow football outside the U.S. He also took a subtle jab at the NFL for scheduling his team for a fourth consecutive primetime game in Baltimore, rather than giving them a chance to host.

"Playing in Baltimore for the fourth straight primetime wasn’t ideal. Maybe make one of those in Cincinnati next year. Please," Burrow remarked. He added, "Maybe an international game next year, too."

Burrow’s commitment to expanding the NFL’s reach is not just talk. He participated in the Netflix series 'Quarterback' this year, aiming to elevate both his personal brand and the league's global presence. "To not have a stage like that is a little disappointing," he admitted. "I’ve consciously worked hard to try to grow the game internationally over the last 18 months or so, so hopefully at some point in my career we can go over there."

Looking ahead, the Bengals' fate in the upcoming schedule is crucial, as they prepare for a Thanksgiving matchup against the Ravens, a game that could hold significant playoff implications in the competitive AFC North.

Last season saw the Bengals play in three Monday Night Football games, two Sunday Night Football games, and one Thursday Night Football game, but only one of those was at home. Their last encounter in Baltimore was a heartbreaker, ending in a one-point loss.

Burrow recognizes the challenges of not being on a marquee franchise. Despite leading the Bengals to the Super Bowl in 2022, injuries and defensive struggles have kept them out of the spotlight. Yet, Burrow's passion remains relentless. Beyond the Netflix gig, he even traveled to France and other countries last summer promoting the sport.

Now, he's sending a clear message to the NFL: it's time to reward his on-field success and off-field efforts with the recognition they deserve.
