This state-of-the-art facility covers over 10,000 square feet and aims to meet the burgeoning demand for logistics services in the region.

Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) revealed that this expansion solidifies Hong Kong's position as an international supply chain management hub. Mr. Charles Ng, Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion at InvestHK, expressed optimism about the collaboration, stating, "JD Logistics' growth in Hong Kong signifies our city's pivotal role in global logistics. We are excited about the new momentum this brings to our economy and innovation."

The company has been proactively expanding its reach in Hong Kong, having already established operations centres in Kwun Tong, Kwai Tsing, Sha Tin, and Yuen Long. The latest addition is strategically located in Chai Wan, designed to significantly increase operational efficiency. Equipped with cutting-edge automated sorting technologies, the new centre is expected to double processing efficiency.

Mr. Lin Ruibin, Director of Public Affairs at JD Logistics, emphasized the importance of this new facility. "Our commitment to Hong Kong is unwavering, and this centre is crucial in optimizing supply chain efficiency. With advanced logistics technologies, we aim for rapid delivery and precise management of our goods," he remarked.

The demand for JD Logistics's services has skyrocketed, reflecting the robust growth in e-commerce. "Last year, we saw a staggering 24-fold increase in daily package deliveries in Hong Kong and 14-fold in Macao. The volume of cross-border packages between Mainland China and Hong Kong soared by 16 times," Lin added. This remarkable growth underscores the vast business potential within the region, prompting the company to ramp up its operational capabilities in Hong Kong.

Furthermore, the company's strategic positioning in Hong Kong is part of a broader vision that recognizes the city as a vital node in the Greater Bay Area, aligning with its goal to enhance logistics solutions across Asia. Since commencing operations in Hong Kong just a year ago, JD Logistics has already hired over 450 local employees and plans to expand its workforce further to accommodate rising demand.
