As McCarthy gears up for a recovery, the spotlight shifts to Carson Wentz, who is set to take over the starting role. O’Connell praised Wentz’s recent practice performance, noting, "[Wentz] had a really good practice last week... Carson stepped in and did a great job." It seems McCarthy’s injury may have occurred during a scramble on second-and-20, when he got rolled up while making a play. "He was evaluated right there, taped up, and went back in the game. But it’s one of those things that tends to be much worse today than probably it was in the moment," O'Connell explained.
