Fare Hike Kicks In Today!

Starting today, tram fares in Hong Kong are on the rise! Adult tickets for riders aged 12 and over have jumped to HK$3.30, reflecting a 10% increase from the previous fare of HK$3.00.

Children and Seniors Also Affected

It's not just adults feeling the sting; children's fares for those aged 3 to 11 have climbed from HK$1.50 to HK$1.60, a rise of about 6.6%. Senior citizens aged 65 and up will now pay HK$1.50, marking a 15.3% increase from HK$1.30. In contrast, the monthly tram pass price remains stable at HK$260.

The fare adjustments come after a meticulous review by the government concerning the tram company’s fare increase proposal. Officials assure that this move is to minimize the burden on daily commuters who heavily rely on tram services.
