Major Fee Increases Coming This September!
Brace yourselves, Hong Kong residents! Starting September 8, 2025, the Hong Kong Immigration Department will significantly raise several fees related to visas, entry permits, and travel documents. This move is part of a strategic cost recovery plan that sees some fees soaring by as much as 51%!
What’s Changing?
The government has revealed that the current fees are not covering the expenses involved in providing these essential services. Among the adjustments, expect to see a spike in prices for visa applications, passport issuances, re-entry permits, and delivery services. For instance, an ordinary visa will jump from HK$230 to HK$330, and a standard adult passport will now cost HK$430 instead of HK$370.
