Major Agreements Signed in Qatar
During their successful first stop in Qatar, significant achievements were made—including 35 bilateral agreements focused on economic cooperation, investment, finance, and innovation. Notably, a tripartite agreement was established between Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Qatar in fintech, showcasing Hong Kong's strategic role in linking diverse economies.

In a landmark announcement at a business luncheon, Lee declared a new arrangement allowing HKSAR passport holders to travel to Qatar visa-free for up to 30 days. Strengthening Economic Ties with Qatar
Lee's first day in Qatar included discussions with prominent leaders, including the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The talks centered on strengthening bilateral trade, which reached $1.6 billion last year, highlighting the potential for further expansion.
Exploring Investment Opportunities
At the Qatar Investment Authority, the delegation explored investment strategies and opportunities for economic collaboration. Highlighting their shared interest in innovation, Lee and his team visited Lusail City, a cutting-edge smart city, to study how technology is integrated into urban development.
Cultural Exchange and Future Innovations
Delegates also toured the National Museum of Qatar, delving into the country’s rich history and cultural heritage. Before concluding the Qatar leg of their journey, Lee visited an autonomous vehicle project at Doha Hamad International Airport, reflecting the promising future of global innovation stemming from Hong Kong's tech sector.
