HK Express to Launch Exciting Red-Eye Flights Between Hong Kong and Bangkok!
In a game-changing move for travelers, HK Express has officially announced the addition of a fifth daily red-eye flight connecting Hong Kong with the vibrant city of Bangkok, Thailand. This new service is set to accommodate the skyrocketing demand between these popular destinations, complementing an already strong presence of several airlines on this bustling route.
Late Night Takeoffs to Bangkok
As reported by aviation experts at AeroRoutes, the low-cost airline is introducing an extra overnight flight between Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) to enhance travel options for night owls and early risers alike.
Starting from June 29 and running through to August 30, passengers can take advantage of the new flight schedule. The Airbus A321 will depart from Hong Kong at 22:05 local time (UTC +8), ensuring it arrives in Bangkok bright and early at 00:05 local time (UTC +7) on flight UO710. For the return leg of the journey, flight UO711 will leave Bangkok at 00:55 and arrive back in the heart of Hong Kong by 04:55.
With other HK Express flights already departing throughout the day, ranging from 13:30 to 16:55, this red-eye option provides more flexibility for travelers eager to maximize their time in Bangkok or Hong Kong.
A Bustling Air Corridor
The route between Hong Kong and Bangkok is one of the busiest international air corridors. In June, an impressive 164 weekly departures were recorded from Hong Kong to Bangkok—15 more than the previous year. Notable players in this competitive market include Cathay Pacific with 50 weekly departures, Hong Kong Airlines offering 33, and other contenders like Thai International Airways, Emirates, and Ethiopian Airlines.
Emirates provides a unique fifth-freedom flight that connects Dubai with Bangkok and then continues to Hong Kong, while Ethiopian Airlines operates a similar route stemming from Addis Ababa. This level of connectivity makes it clear that both cities are pivotal in international travel.
Interestingly, data from the travel analytics firm OAG ranks the Hong Kong-Bangkok air corridor as the seventh-busiest route globally, with a staggering 4.2 million available seats forecasted throughout 2024. In comparison, the top international route from Hong Kong to Taiwan sees a whopping 6.7 million seats—indicating just how vital these connections are to travelers.
Expanding Horizons for Travelers
In addition to launching this red-eye service, HK Express is significantly boosting its overall flight offerings. The airline plans to add an impressive 104 weekly flights this June compared to last year, translating to a remarkable 52.6% increase in capacity.
Among the new routes are several exciting destinations that the airline didn’t serve last year, including Phú Quốc and Penang, as well as new entries in South Korea: Cheongju and Daegu. Travelers can look forward to experiencing rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and iconic filming locations through these newly introduced destinations.
In a market saturated with options, HK Express is positioning itself as the smart choice for those seeking affordable travel to untapped destinations. Given the rising demand and the strategic expansion of services, travelers should watch for these new opportunities that promise exploration and excitement.
With all these developments, the future looks bright for HK Express and those flying between Hong Kong and Bangkok! Stay tuned for more updates on the dynamic world of travel.
