Professor Sun praised the essential role of barcodes in Hong Kong’s bustling economy, calling them the 'unsung heroes' that empower businesses in today’s fast-paced digital landscape. He highlighted their importance beyond mere sales tracking—barcodes are key in inventory management, pricing strategies, and logistics, laying the groundwork for advancements in the Internet of Things (IoT). He reassured attendees that just like GS1, the Government is dedicated to improving public service efficiency through digital transformation.
