Groundbreaking Exhibition of French Impressionist Masters Cèzanne and Renoir Launches in Hong Kong

In an extraordinary cultural milestone, Hong Kong is set to host its first large-scale exhibition dedicated to the works of two monumental figures of the Impressionist movement: Paul Cézanne and Pierre-Auguste Renoir. This stellar showcase, titled "The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Cézanne and Renoir Looking at the World – Masterpieces from the Musée de l'Orangerie and the Musée d'Orsay," will run from January 17 to May 7 at the Hong Kong Museum of Art, courtesy of the generous sponsorship of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.

The highly-anticipated opening ceremony took place on January 16, attended by esteemed officials including Rosanna Law, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Michael Lee, Chairman of The Hong Kong Jockey Club. Also present were prominent figures from the art world, including Stephanie De Brabander, Head of International Exhibition Projects at the Musée d'Orsay, and local cultural leaders.

This exhibition not only celebrates the legacy of Cézanne and Renoir but also honors The Hong Kong Jockey Club's 140th anniversary. With over 52 masterpieces displayed, including 49 paintings from these artists and notable works from Pablo Picasso, art enthusiasts will gain invaluable insight into the evolution of Impressionism, a movement that revolutionized the art scene.
