Big news for Android users! Google is finally rolling out ultra-wideband (UWB) support for its revamped Find My Device network, now known as 'Find Hub.' This advancement promises to transform the way you track your belongings!

Historically, Android's tracking system has heavily relied on Bluetooth technology, leaving many users frustrated by its limitations. Currently, the only tracker equipped with UWB capabilities is the Moto Tag, released last year. In contrast, competitors like Apple’s AirTag and Samsung’s Galaxy SmartTag offer precise tracking through UWB, enhancing user experience significantly.

Finally, the long-awaited software update is on the horizon! Google confirms that UWB support will be available within the 'Find Hub' app later this month, but for now, support is limited to the Moto Tag.

But wait, there’s more! Google is also expanding its horizons with new hardware collaborations. Pebblebee is set to release integrated trackers, beginning with the 'Loc8' model embedded in skis from Peak. Moreover, new trackers designed to fit seamlessly into luggage from July and Mokobara are also on the way.

Excitingly, Google is gearing up to launch Disney-themed Bluetooth tags through Pixbee, a brand focused on innovative kids' smartwatches. These new additions are sure to add a splash of fun to tracking!

Looking ahead, Google has ambitious plans for early next year. They are working on partnerships with major airlines like Aer Lingus, British Airways, and more, allowing travelers to share the location of their luggage trackers directly with airlines. This follows Apple’s lead, which has already partnered with airlines to help find lost luggage using AirTags.
