Universal Pictures just dropped the official trailer for the much-anticipated sequel, "Wicked: For Good," which is set to continue the magical saga of Broadway’s beloved tale.

Reprising their iconic roles, Cynthia Erivo steps back into the shoes of Elphaba while Ariana Grande once again dazzles as Glinda. Joining them are Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Jeff Goldblum as the enigmatic Wizard of Oz, Ethan Slater as Boq Woodsman, Marissa Bode as Nessarose Thropp, and Bowen Yang as Pfannee. Helmed by director Jon M. Chu, this sequel promises to be another visual spectacle.

The official logline reveals that "Wicked: For Good" is set in the enchanting Land of Oz, taking place both before and after Dorothy Gale's arrival. It will dive deep into the trials of Elphaba and Glinda's friendship as they face the repercussions of their transformations into their destined roles: the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch of the North. The film explores how these changes will forever alter the fate of Oz.

The spectacular success of last year’s "Wicked" is hard to overlook — the film raked in a staggering $756 million globally, smashing records to become the highest-grossing adaptation of a Broadway musical to date, as well as Universal’s third highest-grossing film ever. Not to mention, it received a whopping 10 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and acting nods for both Erivo and Grande. With highlights like costume design and production design awards, it made history with Paul Tazewell becoming the first Black man to win in the costume department.
