This new film draws its title from the beloved 2007 video game 'Super Mario Galaxy,' a fan-favorite that took gameplay to new heights on the Wii console. The big reveal came on Friday during a Nintendo Direct presentation, just in time to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original 'Super Mario Bros.' game that kicked off the franchise on September 13, 1985.

The Nintendo Direct opened with an enchanting teaser featuring Mario dozing under a tree, with the iconic Princess Peach's castle visible in the background. As the camera panned skyward, viewers were treated to quick glimpses of familiar faces: a Monty Mole burrowing underground, Cheep Cheeps splashing through a stream, and the ever-busy Toads bustling around the castle.
