Disney+ has officially announced that fan-favorites Christopher Masterson (Francis) and Justin Berfield (Reese) will be reprising their roles. Joining the original cast members are Frankie Muniz (Malcolm), Jane Kaczmarek (Lois), and Bryan Cranston (Hal). However, in a surprising twist, Erik Per Sullivan, who originally portrayed Dewey, will not be returning. Instead, the role will be taken over by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark, known for his work on *Wynonna Earp*.

In a recent interview with *Malcolm France*, Kaczmarek explained that Per Sullivan, who was just seven years old when the show began and 14 when it wrapped up, was never particularly interested in continuing to act. She revealed that he is now focusing on his studies at a prestigious American university, pursuing graduate work in Victorian literature — a field far removed from Hollywood.

Anthony Timpano will step in as Malcolm’s brother Jamie, while Vaughan Murrae (from *The Way Home*) will portray the youngest sibling, Kelly. Kiana Madeira, known for her role in *Trinkets*, will appear as Malcolm's girlfriend, Tristan, and Keeley Karsten, who starred in *The Fabelmans*, will play Malcolm’s daughter, Leah.
