In a shocking turn of events, Graham Linehan, the creator of beloved British comedy series Father Ted, found himself in handcuffs at Heathrow Airport after making incendiary posts on social media platform X.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a man was taken into custody shortly after arriving on an American Airlines flight, perfectly aligning with Linehan's arrest claim.

According to Linehan's Substack article, titled "I just got arrested – again," he recounted a dramatic scene as he stepped off the plane: "Five armed police officers were waiting for me. Not one, not two—five. They escorted me to a private area and told me I was under arrest for three tweets."

One of the tweets that sparked the controversy stated: "If a trans-identified male is in a female-only space, he is committing a violent, abusive act. Make a scene, call the cops, and if all else fails, punch him in the balls." This inflammatory statement has drawn significant backlash, highlighting Linehan's longstanding reputation for his outspoken anti-trans views.

In addition to this latest incident, Linehan is also set to face court charges for allegedly harassing a trans woman and damaging her phone—allegations he firmly denies. In a surprising twist, X CEO Elon Musk came to Linehan's defense, branding the UK a "police state" in relation to the arrest.

Adding to the drama, while in custody, Linehan reported feeling unwell and was taken to the hospital after medical staff discovered his blood pressure soared to over 200. He expressed his alarm, writing, "The stress of being arrested for jokes was literally threatening my life."

The Metropolitan Police, however, downplayed the seriousness of the situation, stating that he was in neither a life-threatening nor life-changing condition and was later released on bail pending further investigation.
